(SEARDF)

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a
day.
Teach him how
to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
(Lao
Tzu, Chinese Philosopher, 570 - 490 BC)
Mission:
SEARDF, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Florida on May
2002, as a public supported, tax exempted and tax deductible NGO, with the
mission of helping the very poor, the disadvantaged, and handicapped people
of South East Asia. SEARDF, Inc. strives to assist in the development and implementation
of rural
development projects that will encourage community building, improve the lives of the people
by providing employment, and protect
the environment. By fostering public awareness and understanding for the
special needs of the targeted population in their struggle to survive,
public funding is sought to give hope to the very poor, including orphans
and widows,
and those who have suffered the loss of their livelihood due to injuries
sustained by exploding landmines. Financial assistance is combined with
education and job training to develop an understanding for the critical
interplay of agriculture, nature and community, and to again make the
targeted population productive members of their community.
Program Vision and Goals
Planned program activities include building of homes, school, orphanage, health
clinic, shops, based on the integrated Bio-Systems Concept to achieve sustainability
with minimal external input. The major goal is to create a segment of a
comprehensive project that will reach "Steady State Operations"
where all systems work in a balanced, efficient & harmonious way in rural
communities in South East Asian Countries. This project is to be used as a model
for other sites to provide job training and education, food
security, sustainable livelihoods, and improved healthcare to the
rural poor, especially children and women, as well as disaster relief, infrastructure building and
local governance in harmony with official local governments.
Purpose
The organization’s purpose is to assist the rural poor - including widows and
orphans, disadvantaged,
handicapped, internationally displaced people and refugees in South East Asia by
improving their livelihoods and environment through the development and
implementation of effective agricultural projects in co-operation with other
organizations. |
